Warsaw participates in the “Literary Residencies” project, designed to invite foreign writers and translators to spend a few weeks in the Capital City. The inaugurating meeting will be held on 23 April.
The 23rd of April is World Book and Copyright Day, established by UNESCO as an annual celebration to promote reading and protection of intellectual property. Warsaw is one of the European cities which place particular emphasis on the value of books in everyday life.
On 7 June a meeting between Rafał Trzaskowski, the Mayor of Warsaw, and Anne Hidalgo, the Mayor of Paris was officially held. The discussion focused on the challenges facing the two European capitals and ended with the ceremonial signing of a cooperation and partnership agreement between them.
