In June, the "Warsaw Beach Staff" came back to the beaches of the capital city. City Hall has launched six beach points that will operate until the end of September. The Beach Staff will provide you with information about the nature by the Vistula River, as well as you will be able to rent deckchairs and sports equipment free of charge.

Information and recreation points operate on four capital beaches – Saska, Poniatówka, Rusałka (near the zoo), Żoliborz – as well as in the Kamień Educational Pavilion and for the first time at the General George Smith Patton Boulevard (by the first pavilion from the side of the Świętokrzyski Bridge).

City beach points were created so that residents could attractively and actively spend time by the Vistula River, as well as learn about its natural values. Warsaw's beaches are located in the Natura 2000 area which is under nature conservation.

There are deckchairs, mats, balls, boules, educational toys, blankets and binoculars prepared for the beachgoers. Equipment is rented by the Beach Staff. You can recognize them by the T-shirts they are wearing with the Vistula District markings and the inscriptions "Beach Boy" or "Beach Girl".

Beach Staff provides books as part of the "Read by the Vistula River" campaign and publications on nature by the Vistula River, they supply garbage bags and ecological ashtrays. Above all, however, they serve knowledge about the Vistula attractions, including the proposal of a club-cafés near the boulevards and beaches.

Opening hours

In June and September, points on the beaches and the boulevard will operate on weekends from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and in July and August every day – on weekdays from 11 a.m. and weekends from 10 a.m. to approx. 9 p.m. (beach points close half an hour before dark).

In the Kamień Educational Pavilion, the "Warsaw Beach Staff" project will be realized at weekends. In June from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., in July from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., in August from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and in September from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

How to get there

It is best to come by the Vistula River by public transport or by bicycle, scooter or rollerblades. An attraction may be reaching the beaches by water, and this is made possible by the extensive offer of Warsaw shipping, tourist water lines of the Municipal Transport Authority, as well as the offer of individual carriers of traditional and recreational shipping.

However, it is not possible to enter the beaches, boulevards and areas of the Vistula River by cars and other motor vehicles without a permission issued by the Green Management Board.
