The Regional Accounting Office has contested the resolution of the Warsaw City Council on the waste management fee system adopted in November 2021. At today’s session, the councillors adopted new provisions, according to which the fee from next year onwards will depend exclusively on the type of development.
PLN 85 per household in multi-family housing and PLN 107 per single-family household – these are the rates that will apply in Warsaw from 1 January 2022. The change results from yesterday’s decision of the Regional Accounting Office in Warsaw, according to which it is not possible to differentiate the fee per household by the usable area of the residential premises. Such a proposal was included in the last resolution, adopted by the Council in November this year.
The exemption for owners of single-family houses who will compost bio-waste has remained unchanged – in this case the fee will be reduced by PLN 9.
The most disadvantaged people will be covered by a protection programme which was voted through at last week’s session of the Warsaw City Council.
