Poland Contact Festival - Warsaw Flow lasted from 10th to 16th July in the Warsaw.
It was the first international festival of contact improvisation in Poland.
What is contact improvisation?
It’s a dance created by Steve Paxton, an American dancer and choreographer. Contact improvisation refers to such forms of contact like hugs, wrestling, fighting. Contact improvisation is practiced mostly in pairs, but dancers can also cooperate in larger groups. The dance is spontaneous, creative and its forms are made without planning. The body becomes a tool for searching and discovering the human possibilities. Dancing gives freedom, creativity, ability to develop non-verbal communication, trust to myself and others. It is also a source of childhood joy and freedom.
All are welcome to participate in free workshops.
The project is realized under the care of Warsaw running for the title of European Capital of Culture 2016.
