During the meeting on 17th November, the Warsaw City Council approved the 2017-2019 Veteran Healthcare Programme. The programme aims to provide comprehensive healthcare to registered veterans and Warsaw Rising fighters.

Under the programme, veterans gain access to specialist doctors as well as diagnostic and laboratory tests, without the need to register in specialist outpatients’ clinics. The programme is also aimed at preventing complications related to old-age diseases and preserving independence and mobility.

It will be implemented by the Praga District Hospital and the Independent Complex of Outpatient Healthcare Centres for the Warsaw-Mokotów District. The cost of the programme, ending on 31 December 2019, is PLN 2.7 million.
For the years 2007-2016, the city authorities allotted nearly PLN 7.4 million for veteran healthcare.
