In 2016, thanks to the support of the local government of Warsaw and the General Police Headquarters, the police in Warsaw received 55 new patrol cars. New cars improve the mobility of the police officers who provide everyday security for the denizens of Warsaw. Due to the support of the local authorities, the police officers will be able to reach more quickly the residents who called them and provide help.
The Kia Cee’ds constitute the majority of the purchased vehicles, and they have been designated to the stations in the following districts:
District Police Headquarters - Warsaw I (Śródmieście District - 4 vehicles), District Police Headquarters - Warsaw II (Mokotów District – 4, Wilanów District – 2, Ursynów District – 3), District Police Headquarters - Warsaw III (Ochota District – 1, Ursus District – 1), District Police Headquarters - Warsaw IV (Wola District – 1, Bemowo District – 2), District Police Headquarters - Warsaw V (Bielany District – 3, Żoliborz District – 1), District Police Headquarters - Warsaw VI (Białołęka District – 2, Targówek District – 2, Praga-Północ District – 5), and District Police Headquarters - Warsaw VII (Praga-Południe District – 3, Wesoła District – 1, Rembertów District – 1).
Fifteen cars have been delegated to the Warsaw Metropolitan Police, including the WMP Traffic Department - 8 vehicles, the WMP Diplomatic Missions Protection Department - 1, the WMP Escort Department - 2, the WMP Intelligence and Patrol Department - 2, the Metro Police Station - 1 and the River Police Station - 1.
Additionally, the City of Warsaw co-financed the purchase of 3 Skoda Yeti vehicles (Rembertów, Wawer and Wesoła Districts) and an Opel Corsa vehicle (Targówek District).
