The second week of adaptation days in new nursery at 19 Kinowa Street, where 82 youngest citizens of Warsaw spends their time, has passed. Children and parents were visited by Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, Mayor of the City of Warsaw.

Every year we increase the number of places in nurseries, at a daily caregiver, or by purchasing places in non-public institutions. Altogether, more than 6 thousand children benefit from various forms of caregiving. This is the third nursery that we opened this year” – said Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, Mayor of the City of Warsaw.

The nursery at Kinowa Street was established thanks to adaptation of a shopping pavilion, in the neighbourhood of Skaryszewski Park. Construction works lasted from July 2015 to December 2015. The cost of investment was nearly PLN 2 million. In nursery are 3 groups for 82 children.

Since 2006, 26 nurseries have been created, including 10 mini nurseries. New nurseries were constructed and some of already existing nurseries were adapted. The city spent for this purpose PLN 58 million. Currently in the City of Warsaw there are 54 nurseries, 10 mini nurseries and 27 daily caregivers (they take care of 135 children). The City of Warsaw purchases places in private nurseries.

Until 2018 nearly 2,500 places will be created, among others in 15 nurseries. It will be possible as a result of construction of units in Białołęka, Bemowo, Bielany, Wola, Ursynów, Wilanów, Targówek, Mokotow, Wawer, Praga-Południe and Żoliborz. Even this year, construction of a nursery in Rembertów will end, and designing of a nursery at Szkoły Orląt Street in Gocław will start. The city also plans to expand the already existing units.
