Japan Days at the University of Warsaw

The University’s Library turned into the Japanese garden for several days. From 8th to 10th November Japanese Section at the Warsaw’s University organized the Days of Japan for the fourth time.

This year the event was devoted to the subject values in the Japanese culture. An special exhibition was held, entitled " Zen Gardens, Ways of Tea Gardens – the ideas and forms of space”. What is more, the movie "Phenomenology of Truth" directed by Paweł Kuczyński was displayed as a prelude to discussion of philosophical dialogue between East and West.

On November 9th, “Theater nō” played the drama Atsumori, written by Zeamiego Motokiyo. The main part of the celebration was the conference "In the circle of Japanese culture. The 140 anniversary of Nishida Kitaro's birth (1870-1945)”, in which many scientists from Japan and Poland participated.

The honorary patronage of  the Japan Days at the University of Warsaw took the Embassy of Japan, “Takash and We” Foundation and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
