156 films from 57 countries, including premieres – this is what the 38th Warsaw Film Festival promises to be, which will take place between 14 and 23 October at the Atlantic cinema and the Złote Tarasy Multikino. The festival guests will include, among others, Volker Schlöndorff, Jan Svěrák, and Brillante Mendoza.

There will be 88 feature films in the programme of the 38thWFF, including 28 documentaries and 68 short films. The opening film of this year's WFF will be "Niebezpieczni dżentelmeni" (Eng. Dangerous Men) directed by Maciej Kawalski, who talks about members of the Zakopane bohemian film – Tadeusz Boy-Żeleński (Tomasz Kot), Witkacy (Marcin Dorociński), Joseph Conrad (Andrzej Seweryn) and Bronisław Malinowski (Wojciech Mecwaldowski) involved in local intrigue. In turn, the closing title of this year's festival will be "War Pony" directed by Riley Keough, winner of the Golden Camera at this year's festival in Cannes. The film tells the story of two boys from the Oglala Lakota tribe in North America.

The films will be presented in several sections, including: International Competition, Documentary Film Competition, Polish Classics, Discovery, and Next Generation Short Tiger 2022. There will also be the Creme de la Crème Competition, which will feature screenings of films that have received prizes at the most important festivals in the world.

This year, the Warsaw Film Festival cooperates with the Odessa International Film Festival, which cannot take place due to the ongoing war in Ukraine. 11 feature films and 7 short films will be shown on the screens of Warsaw cinemas as part of the Ukrainian Competition.
