This winter Warsaw will offer 15 city ice rinks in 12 districts. The first ones are already in operation and await ice-skating enthusiasts in Wawer, Targówek and Mokotów, while the popular ice-skating rink in Stare Miasto Square will be opened this Saturday.
In Warsaw, where leisure opportunities are plentiful, special attractions also await ice-skating enthusiasts. Throughout the winter season, ice rinks will be open in Bemowo, Ursus, Wawer, Targówek, Wesoła, Ochota, Białołęka, Wilanów, Mokotów, Wola, Śródmieście and Żoliborz.
The city's ice rink offer
Entry to the ice rinks in Bemowo, Ursus, Wesoła, Śródmieście and Żoliborz is completely free. In the remaining districts, prices range from 5 to 11 zł per hour. Those wishing to take advantage of the city's offer do not need to have their own equipment – skate rental services will be available at each rink.
Apart from the offer for ice-skaters, some district sports facilities have also prepared additional offers, e.g. at the ice rink at 21 Strumykowa Street in Białołęka, on 7 December, Santa Claus Day will be celebrated, and in Mokotów at 1 Inspektowa Street skating Thursdays and a winter triathlon will be organised.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, sanitary restrictions are in place at the city's ice rinks. Throughout the entire stay in the ice rink hall it is necessary to keep a social distance of min. 1.5 m, to wear a mask covering the mouth and nose and to disinfect hands.
Ice rink in Stare Miasto
This year it will be possible to enjoy the new ice rink in Stare Miasto Square, which will gain a completely new construction. It replaces the previous, rather worn-out, wooden structure. Now, modern, energy-efficient solutions have been applied, thanks to which electricity and water consumption will be significantly lower.
