Sputnik - Russian Film Festival is an event returning to Warsaw every year. This festival became a cultural bridge between Poland and Russia, because continuously for 4 years integrates this Slavic nations.

Started on Nov. 5, for 10 days Warsaw was the capital of Russian cinema. Film screenings were accompanied by a series of events that are integral elements of the structure of Sputnik. Exhibitions, debates, concerts and meetings with artists completed the film program.

What is more, during the screening of best Russian productions, the organizers invited also Russian film makers to Poland. There was a chance to talk to Alexei Balabanov, known to Polish audience as the director of "Brother" and "Cargo 200" and Paul Łungin, the author of "The Island" - one of the best Russian films.

Main Competition
Among the latest productions of Russia, festival’s jury chose a few films, which took part in main competition. This was a section of artistic cinema, which had been awarded at Russian and international festivals in the past two years.

The main partner of the Sputnik festival was the City of Warsaw.
