Since Monday, 26 October, it is possible to charge your tablet, e-reader or telephone on some trains of the SKM (Urban Rapid Rail). The company has also launched a system for notifying about changes and delays in the train circulation.

“-We constantly improve the city transport comfort, we make investments in our rolling stock and new technologies. Today, we introduce a new service: the notification system and USB chargers on trains,” - says Jarosław Jóźwiak, the Deputy Mayor of Warsaw.

SKM is the first transport provider in the capital that allows passenger to charge their telephone, tablet or e-reader during the trip. The first two trains equipped with USB chargers (19 WE and 14 WE) started running on Monday, 26 October. The installation of chargers on other trains will be completed in three months. Each train section will be equipped with two chargers.

The company has also launched a system for notifying about disruptions in the train circulation via text messages. Passengers who subscribe to the service will receive information about the delayed SKM trains (if the delay is longer than 30 minutes), the changes or shortened routes, cancelled and withheld trains. It is important to note that the passengers themselves will decide on the service scope and whether it should notify them about all trains, or only about the lines they choose. The users will pay only for sending the message turning the service on and off. All other messages will be free of charge.
