As part of the programme called #WarszawaDlaNajmłodszych (Warsaw for the youngest), as of September 2019, all places in municipal crèches are free-of-charge - and it currently includes places for over 14,500 children.
Within the last two years, the number of places in crèche care has increased by over 95 percent. This was possible due to building 6 new crèches, upgrading 1 facility, and financing places in private institutions.
In 2021, we are planning to open further 5 crèches in Bielany, Wilanów, Ursus and Włochy Districts, and upgrade 2 facilities in Bemowo and Ursus.
In our crèches, we focus on the training of the care staff, so that the youngest Warsaw residents can not only benefit from professional care, but also from the support in gaining new skills and discovering the world.
We are also organising free training courses for carers. We wish to train more persons who will be able to take care of small children in crèches, children's clubs or at day carers’.
Moreover, we encourage enterprises and building developers to establish crèches and adapt their premises for the purpose. The more colourful and exceptional places for the young ones, the better!
