Active leisure by the Vistula

Warsaw residents and tourists are kindly invited to practise summer outdoor activities for free in the Vistula District Recreation Zone. Summer attractions will be offered by the end of September in the Poniatówka beach near the PGE National Stadium and the Poniatowski bridge.

The Recreation Zone comprises three full-sized beach volleyball pitches and street workout equipment, along with the previously installed outdoor gym facilities. It is also possible to arrange a beach soccer pitch within the Zone. Once the sporting activities are over, a specially arranged chill-out area offers a wonderful opportunity to rest. Next to the pitches there are stands for around 200 spectators, containers which may serve as cloakrooms, and a sports equipment rental point. Those who visit the Vistula District may take part in tournaments, regular training sessions and physical activities, shows, sports competitions, as well as various activities for children and young people, organised as part of the 2017 “Summer in the City” programme. The Recreation Zone is open every day from 9.30 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. by the end of September. Admission free.

What can you do in the Recreation Zone?
Diversified events organised in the Recreation Zone and free training together with our partners, including Legia Soccer Schools, Nike+ Run Club, Energy Fitness Club Polska and Warsaw Crusaders, make this place even more worth visiting. On 15-16 July the Recreation Zone will host preliminaries to Poland's Beach Volleyball Championship. On 9 August (Sunday) the youngest visitors will have an opportunity to take part in the American Football Day, and on 26-27 August the American weekend will be organised, jointly with the U.S. Embassy. Moreover, each Thursday children can participate in training with Legia Soccer Schools, while other sports fans will certainly enjoy the Monday's Nike+ Run Club training on Mondays and street workout sessions on Sundays. Fitness training is available in the zone almost every day. In the morning hours special activities are organised for children taking part in the “Summer in the City” programme.
