A green record during the Warsaw Recycling Days

During the Warsaw Recycling Days, on 13 May, the residents of all districts received (shrub, flower and herb) seedlings in return for waste material brought in: electronic waste, plastic garbage, metal, paper, glass and batteries.

During this year’s edition of the event, more than 30 thousand plants were handed out in exchange for more than 24 tonnes of segregated waste, including 11 tonnes of glass, in the entire city.
The residents collected a record amount of electronic waste - more than 62 tonnes and approx. 6 tonnes of batteries. In comparison, during the last year's edition of the two-day event, the electric waste collected amounted to 47 tonnes.

The Warsaw Recycling Days is a recurring event, aimed at promoting environmentally friendly attitudes and showing the Varsovians that recycling is an opportunity for the balanced management of limited resources. Through events such as the Warsaw Recycling Days, and educational activities, Warsaw promotes environmentally friendly attitudes and behaviour. The event is immensely popular with the residents, and whole families participate in it.
